The silence of loneliness and regret

I sit and watch they day turn to night I think I have passed channel 41 for the hundredth time today, I sit and ponder for a thought or two, why am I here alone again.

Why did she leave me here on this world to finish out my years alone in silence with no one to care about or for that matter for me?

I sit and eat another meal from the freezer and wonder why am I still here, when will I go.

My little bastards are off in their worlds running their lives and having a grand time of it all, yet the phone is there it is quite and non-disturbing. I remember back when that very same phone would always be going all day every day, now I look forward to the occasional call from a solicitor.

What did I do to run them all off, where did I go wrong when I let someone carry them all off. I have nothing but love and caring to give to them all, yet here I sit alone and forgotten through another dreary day.

It maters not that the sun comes up to me, for the days that were golden have come and gone for me, now alls I have to look forward to is another can of prunes.

Oh my love you left me here in this silence of eternity, my friends have all long gone away on that adventure of life that comes to claim us just once.

Why do I ponder so, why do I ache so, my heart is just so low I don’t think I can stand. Is this payment for something I did in life why must I survive so long and live in this silent night?

Oh please oh please take me tonight let this endless hell come to an end. The never-ending click of the wall clock that echoes my lonely cry.

My bastards yes my damn bastards; I gave them all I could. I did all I could to assure they had everything that Life can offer! I gave them my blood and my soul and I gave it every day, now here I am with the thanks of that waiting in the cold.

Why oh why did my love go forth why did she take the step and leave me here to cry. Oh my love how I miss thee. Your gaze your laugh your warming heart, I miss thy tenderness of the soul, your being you innocence. You brought me great joy everyday that I held you, now I lie in silence waiting for the day that I too will be called upon to take the final journey.
